Can you believe it's May already? May is mental health awareness month, find out more here. In these difficult times, it is perhaps more important than ever to look out for our own mental health and our loved ones'. "Headspace" and "Waking up" are two great apps to give you a chance to take care of your mental health and wellbeing through meditation and mindfulness. Here's a yoga session from headspace to give you an idea although most of what these apps offer is practiced without movement. If you would like to explore these apps further, here are the free ways to get started:
Headspace: We have created a free selection of meditation, sleep, and other experiences designed to support you during the COVID-19 outbreak. It can be found in the Explore tab in the Weathering the Storm category, on the iOS and Android Headspace app. Please give it a try and feel free to tell your friends and family. Just visit https://www.headspace.com/register to create a free account and then download the app after the account has been created. Waking up: We have a special code called OPENMIND which gives people the opportunity to trial the product for one month. To take advantage of this offer: 1. Visit https://www.wakingup.com 2. Click on Sign Up in the upper right hand corner 3. Enter and then verify your email address 4. Once you are logged into Waking Up you can choose Settings -> Redeem promo code 5. Enter the code OPENMIND You can now continue to use the app from inside your web browser or you can download the 'Waking Up ' app from your phone's app store. After downloading the app for your phone make sure to register the app with the same email address you used in Step 3 above.
